Terms of Use
Last updated: September 4, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of FiRemote (the "app"), developed by Alpha Markhor, an independent individual developer. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. What the App Does
The app turns your phone into a remote control for compatible Amazon Fire TV devices, communicating with your Fire TV device directly over your own local network. Core navigation, playback, volume, and layout features are free today. Voice search and photo/video casting are available as part of an optional, auto-renewing subscription.
2. Eligibility
The app is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. You must be old enough to accept these Terms in your country, or have a parent or guardian's permission, to use the app.
3. Subscriptions and Payment
- Subscriptions are sold and billed through Google Play Billing. Pricing shown at purchase is what applies; prices may vary by region and can change over time.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled before renewal.
- You can cancel anytime from Google Play under Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
- Google Play handles refunds under its own refund policies; we don't process refunds directly.
4. Changes and Availability of Features
We may add, change, or remove features at any time, including which ones are free and which require a subscription. We're not obligated to keep any particular feature free forever. If we move a feature you already pay for behind an additional, separate charge, we'll give you reasonable notice first.
5. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for its intended purpose. You may not redistribute, reverse-engineer for competitive purposes, or resell the app or its subscription access.
6. App Updates and Compatibility
The app may periodically require updates to keep working correctly, and we may not support every past version indefinitely. We don't guarantee the app will keep working on an outdated OS version, an unsupported device, or a Fire TV device whose own software has changed in a way that breaks compatibility.
7. Your Responsibilities
- You're responsible for your own network, devices, and Fire TV device's compatibility.
- Some controls (volume, channel, voice search) depend on your specific TV/Fire TV device hardware and may not work on every setup. That's a hardware and protocol limitation, not something the app can guarantee for all devices.
- Don't use the app for any unlawful purpose or to interfere with devices you don't own or don't have permission to control.
8. Third-Party Trademarks
The app is an independent third-party app. It is not created by, affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon.com, Inc. Amazon, Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube, Firestick, Fire OS, and Alexa are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates, used here only to describe compatibility with those products.
9. Intellectual Property
The app's design, code, and branding belong to Alpha Markhor. Using the app doesn't grant you any ownership over it.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every Fire TV device, TV, or network configuration.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Alpha Markhor is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app, including issues caused by your Fire TV device, TV, network, or third-party services the app relies on (Google Play Billing, RevenueCat, Sentry).
12. Termination
You can stop using the app and uninstall it at any time. We may suspend or discontinue the app or specific features if necessary, though we'll try to give reasonable notice for anything that affects an active subscription.
13. Severability
If any part of these Terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. An unenforceable provision is limited or removed only to the extent necessary, without affecting anything else here.
14. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and Alpha Markhor about the app, and replace any earlier understanding on the same subject.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the app evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
